These
are my guitars and related toys:
Takamine CP-132SC nylon string guitar. Good piezo pickup system,
but less convincing when not amplified.
|
M-18/RAG steel string guitar. A marvel, the best instrument I ever had.
Great, bright, balanced sound, and a superb pickup.
|
My new custom made 000-28 Martin Guitar.
With scalloped braces and a wide fretboard, the instrument is very similar
to a 000-28EC model at 25% less cost.
|
A bouzouki a friend bought in Greece as a vacation
souvenir. As it was collecting dust, he eventually
gave it to me (not that I can
play it much, either).
|
A Cort Steinberger clone. Why would I buy such an instrument? It's the perfect
travel guitar. Fits in a suitcase, can be played with a headset amp, and is
indestructible. |
A cavaco, or cavaquino (in English: kindling) brought home from a trip to Rio.
Used in Brasilian music as a loud, sparkling rhythm instrument, much like a
mandolin is strummed in bluegrass.
